BAY AREA RAPID TRANSIT
Future directions with BART

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) has served the Bay Area since the first trains started rolling in 1972. When BART first launched, it was among the most advanced and innovative public transit systems in the world.

Today, ridership has reached all-time highs. Millions of Bay Area residents, especially commuters, rely heavily on BART trains to get them where they need to go quickly and safely.

As it nears a half-century of service, BART is preparing for the next fifty years through a major renovation and expansion effort, now underway.

Brett Badelle, Senior Government Relations Representative for the system, will provide an overview of current activities and future directions of this critically important transit system.
