Hayward Farmer's Market

Shannon Lovelace-White is the Market Manager for the Hayward Farmer's Market.

The Hayward Farmers Market takes place at the Hayward City Hall Plaza every Saturday morning, rain or shine, year round. With over 35 farmers and specialty food purveyors, this market is the place for the local Hayward community to get their fill of fresh, healthy, locally grown fruits and vegetables. The diversity of the market reflects the diversity of the local eaters. With so many loyal farmers and customers the market has developed its own sense of community.

As the Hayward Farmer's Market Manager, Ms. Lovelace-White has found a direct outlet for her passion for education, food equity, and environmental mindfulness. In her prior life, she was a high school teacher for John Muir Charter School serving the California Conservation Corps, a kindergarten teacher in Chengdu, China, and an educational advocate and tutor to foster youth in San Francisco Unified School District. Most recently, she held the position of Assistant Vice President for Graduate and Adult Admissions at Dominican University of California in San Rafael. Her expertise include marketing, outreach, event planning, and education planning and instruction. Ms. Lovelace-White holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Chico State and a master’s degree in adult education from San Francisco State.

The Hayward Farmer's Market has been a popular destination in downtown Hayward for nearly 20 years. Ms. Lovelace-White will talk about the secrets of the market's success.
