Ten students from four Hayward high schools will compete in the annual Hayward Rotary speech contest to be held during the club's regular luncheon on Monday, March 17 at 1074 B St. Members are reminded to arrive at noon so there will be ample time to hear all the participants. Students representing Hayward, Tennyson, Brenkwitz Alternative, and California Crosspoint Academy high schools will compete by speaking on "Service Above Self" before club members and judges. All will receive compensation for competing and the top three will advance to Rotary District 5170-level competition. The event is coordinated by committee chair Ken Rawdon.
