Community Service

Hayward Rotary's many community service projects include the Silva Pediatric & Dental Clinics, Newman Park, the Fields of Dreams project, Tech Center at the Hayward Adult Education School, the Rotary Centennial Children's Park, and the refurbishment of Rowell Ranch Rodeo box seats.

Each Fall, Hayward Rotarians go to each 3rd Grade Classroom in the all the schools (public and private) of Hayward to bring Hardbound Dictionaries to each child for them to keep. In these classroom presentations, we teach the students how to use a Dictionary to look at the word "Service" and to talk to them about how they and Rotarians can be of service to others.  To date, we have connected with over 14,000 students and given each of them their own dictionary to keep.

To facilitate requests from Community Organizations, Hayward Rotary has established a procees called Community Service Grants which are available to qualified organizations by application to the Grants Committee.  The Community Donation Program Guidelines and application will be posted each on our website in late Fall. To apply for a grant, you will need to download the application form. Grant awards are based on the total amount of funds available and voted upon by the Rotary Board of Directors.
