ROD ANDAZOLA & AREA 4 INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE
ROTARY DISTRICT 5170, AREA 4 GLOBAL GRANT COMMITTEE

Beginning July 1, 2019, Rotary Club of Hayward, will become a full member of Rotary District 5170, Area 4 Global Grant Committee. Committee Chair, Patrick Coyle (Livermore Rotary), will discuss past and current committee projects and the benefits and synergism of all Area 4 clubs working together to accomplish Rotary Global Grants. With an emphasis on projects in Central America the committee has a strong history of success in this area of our world by aggregating resources to enable clubs to support large international activities. Dublin Rotary President-Elect, Michael Prilutsky, will discuss next year's proposed Basic Education and Literacy Project in Guatemala. Learn all about RACHEL (Remote Area Community Hotspot for Education and Learning) the mighty little device that is changing education around the world, one school at a time. Time permitting our very own Rod Andazola, who accompanied Michael on the needs assessment trip to Guatemala in February, will discuss his experiences in Guatemala and how Hayward Rotarians can help assure the committee succeeds in this area of Rotary's focus.
