The Hayward Rotary Club will next meet Monday, Nov. 17, for lunch at the Sorensdale Recreation Center, 275 Goodwin St., to celebrate opening of the sensory garden it has funded with $50,000 through its community grants program.  The center is a facility and program of the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District. The primary purpose of the program is to provide opportunities for people with an intellectual disability (i.e., developmental disabilities) to achieve greater independence. Hayward Rotary has funded more than $1 million in projects for community nonprofit organizations since 2000.
