Salvador Llamas, general manager of AC Transit, will be the featured presenter Monday, April 20, when the Hayward Rotary Club meets for its noon luncheon at 1074 B St.
He has more than 29 years of leadership experience in transit operations, including service with LA Metro and as a U.S. Marine staff sergeant with two combat deployments. He joined AC Transit in 2012 as director of maintenance, became chief operating officer in 2017, and was appointed general manager and CEO in 2025. He is active in the American Public Transportation Association and the California Transit Association.
AC Transit operates a fleet of 626 buses, making it the third largest bus operator in California, serving routes across Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
