Here are the Volunteer Do’s and Don’ts
Do’s:
- You are responsible for the $100 gift card. We have no extras to replace it if it gets lost. Do not lose it.
- Keep track of price on items -most are 30% off, and the event is tax free.
- Each pay station has one extra card for overages, but try to not be the shoppers who need it!
- Students/families will have a list of sizes, etc. First priorities are clothing and shoes. Stay away from jewelry, purses and toys.
- After shopping, escort students/families to the back packs and Friends of the Library book tables. If the parent/caregiver is with you, say your fond farewells, and you are done.
- If you don’t have a parent/caregiver with you, make sure your student connects with their family member before you part ways (after you collect their backpack, etc.)
- Learn about the strengths of your student/family and share yours.
Don’ts:
- Please refrain from spending your own money on the shopping spree.
- Don’t take photos with kids without a star sticker on their nametag: sticker= photo OK!
- Don’t go into a dressing room with the child.
