The extraordinary contributions of the Hayward Rotary Foundation will be presented at its annual meeting at the Hayward Rotary Club at noon, Oct. 7 at 1074 B St.
The foundation is the conduit through which much of the club's philanthropy flows, allowing a significant portion of the club's $140,000 in grant funding for 19 community nonprofit organizations last year. Recent funding included roofing the historic Hill and Valley Club in Hayward, providing turnouts and helmets for firefighting students at the Eden Area ROP, and a section of the agricultural education farm under construction at the Alameda County Fair.
