The future of traffic flow in downtown Hayward will be the focus of a presentation Monday, Aug. 24 when the Hayward Rotary Club meets for lunch at 1074 B St.
The featured presenter will be Alex Ameri, director of the city's Utilities and Environmental Services Department. He was part of the team charged with implementing the city's 154-page Downtown Specific Plan and Code, adopted in April 2019, funded primarily by a grant from the Alameda County Transportation Commission.
The Hayward Downtown Specific Plan Task Force was a 14-member advisory body, acting as a public voice for the community. Members of the task force included Hayward Rotarians Barbara Halliday, Mark Salinas, Francisco Zermeno, and Antonio Isias.
