Members of the Hayward High School Uganda Club will give a presentation on its past work in Africa and this summer's project with Habitat for Humanity in Atlanta, at the April 22 luncheon meeting of the Hayward Rotary Club.
Club advisor Jennifer Gonsalves and some of her students will discuss how the club equips students for traveling, cultural awareness, construction, and social service. In the photo, students are seen posing at a construction project they worked on in Uganda last summer.
This summer's project will involve incoming Hayward High School juniors and seniors in building low-income housing in Georgia. The costs are covered by fundraising, the Gunther Foundation Scholarship, and Hayward Unified School District Youth Enrichment YEP funds.
Their five-day itinerary is here.
