Kim Huggett, the 103rd president in the history of the Hayward Rotary Club, will give a presentation on the club's goals for the program year that began July 1 when it meets on Monday, July 8 at noon at the Masonic Hall, 1074 B St., Hayward.

Huggett, who serves on four local nonprofit boards of directors, is former president and CEO of the Hayward Chamber of Commerce and, prior to that, had stints as public relations director for Cal State East Bay and the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District.

Highlights of the year are expected to include the annual Child Spree book and backpack giveaway, omelet feed at Chabot College, book distribution to every third grade student in the city, and concession service at the Rowell Ranch Rodeo. The club's fund-raising efforts allowed it to give more than $138,000 in community and project grants to nonprofit organizations last year.
